Drive-By Truckers

Don Reid (+27=815)

Roughest hill of the year was the benign-looking Watch Croft, which I attempted direct from the road in shorts. I almost needed a blood transfusion by the time I reached the top. Once there, I discovered a path up the side of the hill and found that I had gone to the wrong top anyway. Another naff hill was Hensbarrow Beacon on a horrible wet claggy afternoon, listening to the sound of dump trucks somewhere in the mist. However, a little gem was Caer Caradoc Hill in Shropshire; a nice short diversion on a trip to South Wales.
