Beware of the dogs at Eileanach Lodge in Glen Glass. In March, before cycling by Loch Glass to bag the Graham Beinn nan Eun (15B), I thought I would have a word with the stalker. The hounds thought otherwise, forcing me to make a rapid exit towards the loch, very aware of a pain behind my knee, despite the protection of breeches and long johns. Only when taking a shower that evening did I discover the blood.

No doggy problems on the Western Isles trip in May. Graham bagging in Harris was a battle with rain and gales. Thus we were too shattered to follow the ridge north beyond Uisgneabhal Mor or to continue to Sron Uladal after bagging Oireabhal. All was forgiven on South Uist; the sun shone, making the Beinn Mhor - Beinn Corradail - Hecla circuit my best day of the year, with fine views of St Kilda stacks as a bonus. The Galloway gathering was most enjoyable (my first) and it was good to meet so many more members.
