As usual, dozens of magical moments on summits, halfway up and halfway down, with all the highs and lows of weather and physical exhilaration and fatigue, including literally crawling to the summit of Binnein Shuas in 70mph gales (I know I should take heed of forecasts, but it is too far to travel to sit in the car all day). Unplanned coincidence of the year was my 1111th summit on 11 November (I deliberately started just after 11am when I realised). This was a suitably morose bog-plod to Carn Glas-choire (9A) from the east; could this be a contender for the most boring Marilyn? Maybe it is better from another direction.

Anyway, 2008 is likely to see fewer journeys to new Marilyns, as they are getting further and further north, and my partner expects us to spend most of our time (now we are retired) at our pad in Turkey, where there are numerous hills for the ardent peak bagger, but lack of mapping probably makes listings unfeasible.
