Trying to wrap up Skye in May provided some good walks. I'd taken my tent with a view to camping at Sligachan, but the weather was foul so I opted for bunkhouses instead. Had a great day on Sgurr na Stri, but failed several times to get across to Scalpay due to heavy seas.

It was also a memorable trip to Mull in October, and not just because the car failed at Aboyne, only 15 miles after setting out. After dispatching the failed car back to the dealer in Aberdeen, a swift change of vehicle meant we still got to Mull for a few days. The best day was to Ulva and Gometra; the first ferry was at 9am and I think I caught one at about 9:30. It's then quite a hike along the track to the bridge over to Gometra for a quick dash up and back, taking in the Ulva Marilyn on the return. I caught the return ferry at 16:30, just before the last sailing at 17:00, after a great day - saw no-one.

There was also a Lake District trip in late October, which took in Coniston and Scafell. Now I look forward to 2008 and have the maps out looking for concentrations of Marilyns yet to be completed. North York Moors looks as if it needs some attention, and Wales is again assuming a higher priority on my to-do list.
