The enthusiasm for the hills seems stronger than ever, with the lure of the 1000th Marilyn giving me even greater motivation. An Easter break at A'Chuil bothy in Glen Dessary was very productive, giving me five new Corbetts; Carn Mor, Fraoch Bheinn, Sgurr Mhurlagain, Sgurr Cos na Breachd-laoidh and Bidein a'Chabair. It is always a pleasure to walk the hills in this area with their all-round views, especially to the superb-looking Sgurr na Ciche, the distant Ben Nevis and Aonachs.
The June gathering at Tremadog was very special, meeting people, exchanging stories and putting names to faces. The icing on the cake was the trip to Bardsey Island and the Marilyn of Mynydd Enilli. Thanks to Brent for a well-organised and very successful weekend. Another day to remember was island hill Ailsa Craig, which seems to be a favourite of many people. On a beautiful day with clear views from the 338m summit, the boat trip was better than any theme park ride.
I certainly enjoyed 2005 and I hope 2006 brings much of the same.
