Baglogs: Upper Hall:

Baglog: Bill Fairmaner (+28=1379)

A highlight of the year was a revisit to Mount Hill (26), for as we wandered round the base of the mounument, a visitor emerged from the doorway and asked if we'd like to go up. Head torches would have been useful for finding our way up the staircase, for the blackness was oppressive at times. There is a panoramic view from the top, with Norman's Law looking particularly fine. Looking back through the list of new hills last year, I'm struck by successive Beinn Ghlas's (19A and 1D) and successive Arnavals (17B and 24C). On the second of these, I removed the battered remains of an orienteering-type checkpoint; probably debris from the Western Isles Challenge. Favourite new hill of the year was Sheabhal on Barra - so much so that I visited the top on two separate occasions, in January, during a short lull between storms, and September, on a warm, balmy day when the islands were simply gorgeous.
