Baglogs: Upper Hall:

Baglog: Peter Collins (+76=1443)

Six trips to Scotland, 59 hill days in all. Completed four Marilyn regions, my last County Top, my 1100th Scottish hill and my final Corbett - The Cobbler, with Roderick Manson and Ian Buchanan for moral support. Luckily, mist obscured views of the lurking chasms. Other highlights: a trip to Scalpay with a few Hoffers from the Portree week; Canna (beautiful 13-hour day and excellent meals on the ferry - nothing to be had on the island); Sgurr na Stri, Marsco and Hartaval on Skye; Morven and Maiden Pap (16E); Ben Dreavie and Beinn Conchra (12A). All provided good scrambles, paths or all-round views from their tops. Beinn nan Lus (Etive) provided my longest day for some time - four hours walk in from Victoria Bridge, three hours on the hill and four hours back out.

In the not-so-good category were An Socach (16A) - a lot of plod over tussock using GPS to negotiate very confusing ground; Carn a'Chaochain (11B) - caught up in felled tree brash looking for a fire-break that had evidently been long gone; Cnoc an Daimh Mor (16B) - an hour's effort finding myself 75m lower than the starting point, then some doubt as to the highest point; and Cruach Doir'an Raoigh (10D) - a very rough clamber over a pathless moor.
