One of the highlights of the year was a long run over Seatallan, Pillar and Kirk Fell during a particularily fine spell of spring weather. Another was a quick sprint up Cnoc Damh, to the east of Ullapool, during a coast-to-coast mountain bike trip. The remote ones always stick out in the memory. I think we should rank the Marilyns on a degree of difficulty scale, taking into account terrain, steepness and ease of access, be it lack of roads or arboreal issues. If we did this, then my next hill, the infamous Bishop Wilton Wold, would be bottom of the pile. Bagged this on the way to the ferry at Hull, along with Drake Howe on Cringle Moor.

One of the best views of the year was from Stob an Eas (19C) on a very clear September afternoon. Last hill of the year was Creag Bhan in section 10D. Looking down into the tiny community of Meoble was like a view into Brigadoon.

My good friend and work colleague Gerry Cummins (whom I presented with a copy of the Marilyn bible on his last Corbett), is now charging through the list, and I look forward to welcoming him to the hallowed Hall of Fame very soon. However, my wife (113) and kids (76, 76, 71) will be a while yet.
