In 2006, for the first time ever, I climbed more new Marilyns in England than in Scotland. However, I had great days on the hills climbing old favourites, Yeamans and other lovely little hills. All were memorable, but among the most outstanding were:
On the summit of Beinn Dubh an Iaruinn I was amazed to see someone in the distance coming towards me. It was Peter Dawes from Banchory, also climbing Marilyns; I enjoyed a great chat with him. On some of the English hills I met ponies, many with foals - very interesting for me. Another first was going to the Marhof dinner at Fort Augustus. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening; it was great to see everyone.
