We have the dining room to ourselves on the Saturday evening from about 7pm, and should be able to enjoy some top-notch after-dinner visual entertainment from much-travelled Stewart Logan and his slideshow of the Western Isles. Some form of musical entertainment is also a definite possibility. The Clachan has en-suite rooms at a reasonable price, there are B&B options in St John's and in New Galloway, which is 3km down the road, Kendoon youth hostel is just 7km north (0870 0041130), and there is a camp site at the Ken Bridge Hotel in New Galloway: www.kenbridgehotel.co.uk. Meet in the Clachan Inn on the Friday evening from around 8pm.
