My interest in Marilyns began... after I bought the book in 2014 and found that I had already done just over 400 and yet there were areas like south Wales and Northumbria that I had only visited for cycling events. It was a major plus to get me to visit new areas as a walker.
My favourite Marilyns are... 1) Moel Siabod - I have done it three times. Last time was in 2013 when I combined the walk with a cycle ride back to the start. 2) Blencathra - four times for this one, using the classic Sharp Edge on two occasions. 3) Beinn Ghobhlach - it is a bit different and also very special. It is in idyllic surroundings providing excellent views to the surrounding mountains and over the sea as far as Harris.
I... had a very serious head injury in July 1994, following a hit-and-run accident in Kent when cycling. It was a great achievement for me to get back to outdoor activities.
