I spent a glorious Hogmanay on Meikle Balloch and Fourman Hill, both definitely in the 'Get On My Land' category with waymarking and signs, including the quite surreal 'To Viewpoint and Amenities' most of the way up Fourman Hill. The amenities appeared to consist of a trig point and a view. Ben Newe is also welcoming of walkers, and even has a permanent orienteering course. A jog round previously bagged Bennachie was followed by Hill of Foudland ('Private' - ha!) and Hill of Tillymorgan on 3 Jan. Both exceptional viewpoints, unlike Strathfinella Hill on the way home, where I was definitely pleased to find the trig point - could be tricky if you don't know the, er, trick.
