Oh dear, it's a sign of the times as work commitments are dwindling. Never mind, less work means more time off for bagging. In January I finished off the Lake District and the Dales, with re-ascents to pick up Birks Fell and Cracoe Fell. I visited Mull in April and had the best two weeks of the year for weather; all the Marilyns were bagged. However, be warned, if you walk to the island of Gometra, be prepared to be the postman for the day.
May was a washout and I returned home with only four hills in the bag and a flooded van. In June I did a circuit in Knoydart west of the Carnach river and also bagged most of the Glenelg peninsula and a few hills on Skye.
On Skye again in October, Sgurr na Stri ranks as one of my favourite hills - unrivalled views of the Cuillin and Loch Coruisk; save this one for a good day.
