My interest in Marilyns began... when I was a Munro bagger, I got hold of a copy of the Harvey wall-chart and realised there was so much more to see. This sparked my quest to do all 846 Munros, Corbetts, Grahams and New Donalds - I've currently 71 left. I'm a member of the Scottish Hills website (www.scottishhills.com) and when the founder ChrisM put the sub-2000 list on the site, well, it just made sense to do those too. I've had some fab days out on the so-called 'lesser' hills, including a big adventure trying to escape the forest in Aberfoyle.
My favourite Marilyns are... ones where I've tagged them onto a bigger round with other hills in combination, although my walking buddy has since come up with a 'Marilyn-Munro' concept. Our latest was one such combo on Beinn Sgritheall at Arnisdale.
My least favourite Marilyn is... Dumglow, just behind my house. I found that a difficult one to justify from the perspective of making a day out of it, but the mud made it fun.
