2010 was not a good year. In January my resurfaced hip wore out, so I now have a complete new hip. This put me out of action for ticking and more or less everything else. However, in July I thought I would make a start, made it to St Kilda in sunny weather and got to the top of Conachair, though I had to fight off the dive-bombing skuas all the way. After five hours on the island we had a tour of the stacs. On return to Glasgow I pulled my left hamstring, and this has plagued me since, as even after treatment it is not 100%. Also, my wife passed away on 22 December after a short illness.
