A harmless little slip on the way to Suilven on a perfect day (the Monday after the Ullapool weekend), turned out to be a broken ankle, so summer hillwalking didn't happen. June and July were spent in plaster watching endless World Cup matches, not the best therapy for a rugby fan. I got back on the hills in the autumn with a steady rehab on the Lakeland hills, with a little help from Dave Hewitt and Phil Cooper. I managed a brief late October raid into the Highlands around Kintail, with a few little hills on Skye and three great days on some unexpectedly snowy Munros to complete the rehab.
