I finally took the plunge and joined the RHB mailing list after a few years of lurking offline. The early part of the year saw a determined attempt to progress towards entry to the Hall by December, but progress was significantly slowed later in the year due to an enforced time-out following a cracked rib inflicted whilst falling heavily on top of a farmyard gate on the bridge over the railway en route to Beinn Bhalgairean (1D).
The year's highlights included a fortnight's holiday in June in Wester Ross with trips up a series of high-quality Corbetts including Beinn Dearg, Fuar Tholl and Beinn Airigh Charr. October brought a first visit to Snowdonia where I particularly enjoyed the obvious delights of the Snowdon horseshoe and the north ridge of Tryfan (which contrasted slightly with a visit to Billinge Hill on the way home).
Plans for 2011 include entry to the Hall of Fame and further nibbling away at the few remaining unclimbed Corbetts and Grahams within two hours drive of home. I suspect however that I am rapidly approaching that point, which will be familiar to many others, where the distinct lack of new Marilyns which are reasonably accessible from home leads to dabbling with other lists; most likely Humps?
