The year's bagging started with a March trip to Yorkshire, which cleared the North York Moors and Wolds tops in a day. I managed to avoid the Gisborough Moor gamekeeper. A long trip north to Cape Wrath and Sandwood Bay in late April gave the best bag of the year. Four Marilyns were climbed along the Cape Wrath road and a strange animal was spotted on Fashven. It looked like a small, thin, cat but with a longer tail. An unlikely location for an otter and a bit too dirty for a fox. A planned September trip to South Wales to blitz the local bumps ground to a halt with a broken-down car on the first day. I eventually managed four Marilyns but this was below expectations, and overall it was a disappointing bagging year.
