A week in the Alps gave us a fantastic trip despite terrible weather forecasts. After acclimatisation on the Aiguille du Tour, we had an exciting climb of Mont Blanc via the Gouter route. A storm chased us back down the mountain and the descent from the Gouter Hut was scary, with a fresh glazing of ice and the crossing of a snow slope while rocks the size of footballs whizzed round our heads.
