David Purchase: Take the track from Clatteringshaws as far as NX575767, where a break in the forest allows access to the north-west ridge. The ground is bad lower down, but improves as you gain height. Do not be tempted to climb Benniguinea first and approach from the west, as I did - the intervening ground is awful. (AD: He is right, it is really bad, especially in a wet and midgy July. It is a Hump though.)
