I first discovered the RHB book through The Angry Corrie about a decade ago. Before then I'd been walking in the obvious places for a southerner based in Bristol - Dartmoor and the Brecons, with periodic trips to the Lakes and Scotland. The discovery of the book encouraged me to explore new areas (helped by living in various places since the late 1990s) and to expand my horizons beyond the big hills. After several years of slow but steady progress, a new job in mid Wales in late 2007 opened up a wealth of new hills and led to a burst in the first half of 2008, before other commitments got in the way. My aims for this year are to complete all of the Marilyns and Hewitts in Wales.
