Baglog: Margaret Squires (+88=659)

I started on 8 August 1961, when Roger (who joined the Hall in 2006) and I were acting as gooseberries for an engaged couple who wanted us out of their tent for as long as possible, so we went off to climb a few Shropshire hills. Roger's only recollection of Caer Caradoc Hill (my first) was looking back and finding me crawling up a gentle slope on hands and knees. I did improve after the children had left home, and even climbed 42 Munros by myself, plus eight with other people, so Roger and I couldn't claim a joint 600th. We still hope to complete the Corbetts and Grahams, but in recent years Naismith has shown a distressing tendency to stride on ahead, and sometimes disappear over the horizon, so I hope there will be enough daylight hours for some of the longer ones.
