I especially like islands, so Carn Breugach on Kerrera (19A) in May was a highlight - a nice wee hill on an island full of interest. I also enjoyed visits to Windy Hill, the highest point on Bute, and to Barbay Hill on the Isle of Cumbrae - not a Marilyn but a grand viewpoint nonetheless. Other noteworthy views were from Cruach Tairbeirt (1D), Ardsheal Hill (3B), Creag Ruadh (9C) and Bennachie (21B). Although these were the best viewpoints of the year, I am firmly of the belief that every hill has something of interest if you only take your time and look for it. It certainly helps that I have now left full-time employment behind and can therefore take advantage of good weather when it comes along. As I have got older it has become less and less appealing to go out on a drab day with no views.
