This open-topped hill is surrounded by a thick sitka spruce plantation. The key to an ascent is to follow the track from Moy through the forest to a point where it descends to cross the stream leading down to a lochan (NN425806). From here it is possible to ascend a narrow ride, which soon broadens out. Above the plantation there is an agreeable feeling of escape, similar to climbing through an inversion. There is in fact a pleasant area of young scots pine trees between the plantation and the summit, which has two cairns, with the trig point to the south-west being the higher.
