Graham Illing: We tried to go with Gemini Cruises and it was a disaster. However, they did put us in touch with Farsain Cruises, skippered by Duncan Phillips. Duncan is an extremely friendly and competent skipper who has now been fully briefed on Marilyns and will be keen to take baggers over to Scarba. Duncan operates out of Craobh Haven marina, Argyll (20 miles south of Oban). He can be contacted on 01852 500664 or 07880 714165. A full boat of 12 worked out at £20 each.
Graham Illing: On a business trip in the USA I called into REI, a gear shop the size of an average Tesco Extra. They had inflatable canoes, which could be handy for a trip to St Kilda one day. I nearly bought one ($400) but my colleague, who already thought I was bonkers for Marilyn bagging, pointed out that I couldn't get this in my hand luggage.
