Annual reports E-L:
Annual report: Graham Illing
A number of encounters of the Get-On-My-Land variety during the year:
- Broughton Heights (28A)
- A lady from the farm indicated the route without disturbing the lambing ewes in a most encouraging way. Later on, in the cloud and high wind of Broughton Heights, the shepherd caught up with me on his quad bike to say hi! Quite a shock as I thought I was alone on the hill and my mind was on other things.
- Lambrigg Fell (34D)
- Met the farmer on the top and spent longer talking to him than climbing the hill.
- Grendon Green (38B)
- Midway through hunting for the trig point in the copse of trees, having followed the farm lane, we met the farmers and were essentially caught red-handed. They were extremely friendly and suggested that interest was such they were considering putting up a sign and a stile over the barbed-wire fence. I hadn't the heart to tell them it was a deleted Marilyn.
- Ruardean Hill (38B)
- Summit trig point is in a fenced-off area round a covered reservoir. Although tied with string you can undo this and visit the trig point. Bizarre but true.
